The Magic House

One of my favorite places as a kid to go to was The Magic House. Today, cousin Stacey, Grandma, Mommy, and Austin decided to go check it out. What is great about the magic house is that it has grown so much, but yet it still has stayed a lot the same. Some of the things I enjoyed as a kid are still there!

Austin's favorite area was a place just for babies. He got to play in a mini-kitchen, crawl through a mirrored tunnel, and sit in a ball pit.

His all time favorite thing was the water area. He was holding on so tight to the edge I had a hard time getting him to leave. He was totally soaked by the time he was done!

I will post tons of pics when I return to AZ.

Meeting Family

On Sunday, Austin got to meet family he had never seen before. There were Great Aunt Sandy and Great Uncle Bill, Great Aunt Nancy, and cousins Stacey, Scott, and Aiden. He liked watching Aiden run around and play. It was nice to get so many members of our family together.

Pictures to come soon!

Botanical Gardens

Today we went to the Botanical Gardens. It was nice that Lisa and Matt, friends of Mommy came along with us. It was hot and sticky, but we still had a great time. There were so many beautiful things to see there. There were lots of flowers and sculptures. Austin really enjoyed the Children's Garden where he could explore lots of things. Here are a few picture that Grandma took.

The Zoo

On Monday, Grandma, Austin, and Mommy went to the zoo. We had quite a day! We started by going to The River's Edge to look at hippos, elephants, and fish. Austin was amazed by the elephants, but LOVED looking at the fish in the hippo habitat!

Then we walked over to see the bears and penguins. The zoo has a great penguin habitat inside. Austin made a face as we walked in because it was SO cold! But once he saw the penguins he loved them. At first he didn't like the sounds they were making because there was one that was VERY loud! But he loved to watch them swim!

Austin also loved looking at the monkeys. We were lucky to see the chimps out and about. They were sleeping and then got up to walk around. There also was a little monkey in the primate house that got face to face with Austin. They both stared at each other for a few minutes before he climbed away!

We had a great day at the zoo! Austin was so worn out that he fell asleep before we even left the parking lot!

Trip to St. Louis

On Saturday, Daddy dropped off Austin and Mommy at the airport to fly back to St. Louis to visit friends and family. Mommy was a little nervous to fly by herself. Dadddy helped get us checked in and then off to check through security. We managed just fine, but once we got to our gate we found out the plane was an hour delayed. We set up an area by the window to look out of and then decided to take a walk around the airport. Doing so we found a kids' play area. That was great. I will post pics soon of Austin playing there. On the plane Austin did great. He loved watching out the window during take-off and landing. He did cry a little at the end because he was ready to get off the plane!

Clapping

TV sure has changed since we were kids. There is a whole station called NOG that has all shows for preschool kids. There are a few really cute ones on there. So Austin gets to watch a little from time to time. So I finally caught him clapping during Blue's Clues. Here it is:

Two new tricks!

So Scott and I were having a nice anniversary dinner last night with Austin at the table too. All of a suddden he sucked his cheeks in (like a fish face) and then made a kissing noise. It was too cute! What a perfect way to end dinner. Then this morning he starting clapping by himself.
